Lastly, I learned of the Atom overclocking utility 'eeectl' recently and downloaded it. However, a few days ago I realized this may be beneficial for upgrading to Win7, but the 1000H is not a 64-bit system so, I am uncertain how to evaluate this issue. I first gave consideration to the SSD when I regarded it as a potential 'form of technology upgrade' in that it may generate less heat than a conventional HDD (?). The obvious question is, "Are there other choices?" This is, the 600 SSD in 120/240/480 GB capacities. This appears to be a SATA 3.0 Gbs interface and Seagate's website indicates they have a solution for people in my situation. I suspect it has been damaged and want to consider replacing it with a SSD as I also need to consider upgrading from XP Home to Win7 (I plan a dual boot with a LInux distribution too - possibly Fedora, but I remain open to suggestions on this OS issue.). One of my 1000H's features a Seagate Momentus 160 GB 5400 rpm HD.
